B. SCORING
1. Winners of an event are determined by the addition of all event judge scores to get a total score. Any penalty points will the
be taken into account and subtracted from the total score to give a final score.
2. For the title of Grand Champion, all of the event scores from every event that the school competes in will be added together to give a competition score. Each team will receive their ranking score for each event scored. If a team is not entered into an event the school will receive a score of “0” for that specific event. Thus, it is beneficial to attempt every event in competition.
3. In the instance of a tie for a single event, the following procedure will be used. The highest number of 2nd ranking positioning will be the determining factor. If a second tie occurs, the highest number of 3rd place awards will be the determining factor. If a tie still occurs the score of the Head Judge (Commanders Score) will be used to break the tie. (Example: If 50 units are entered and two teams both score the highest score, the unit whom has received 49 pts (2nd place) more is the winner of the tie. If another tie occurs the 3rd place score (48 pts) is the determining score.)
4. In the instance of a tie for the title of Grand Champion, all exhibition events will be disregarded
